A Q&A session for Iranian movie ‘Another House’ is mounted after screening at Fajr Filmfest.

A Q&A session for Iranian movie ‘Another House’ has been held in Iranian capital city of Tehran after its screening at Fajr Filmfest.

The Monday session held at Tehran’s Milad Tower was about Iranian actor/director Behnoush Sadeqi’s latest movie ‘Another House’ which is her directorial debut shown on Saturday at Fajr Film Festival.

Pejman Bazeghi, one of the movie’s leading characters, as well as the director herself was in attendance and shared their viewpoints regarding the movie and the general status of directorial debuts in Iran.

Bazeghi said in the meeting that veteran critics should have attended the Q&A session and support first-time directors in Iran, adding, “It is high time to trust” those making their directorial debuts.

“Screenplay is the main constituent of filmmaking for sure,” Sadeqi said about the main plot of her film, adding that her movie narrates the treadmill as well as some details of everyday life.

‘Another House’ chronicles the story of a man who decides to get back to his ancestral home to live his last years there.

The actor/director also said she had no difficulty to fund her cinematic project as she already worked in Iranian movies as an actress.

'Another House' has attanded the Iran Cinema Perspective section of Fajr Film Festival.

Fajr Festivals are held annually in Iran during the Fajr Decade (literally meaning ten days of dawn), which marks the anniversary of the ten days from the return of Imam Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Republic, to Iran (February 1) until the victory day of the Islamic Revolution (February 11) in 1979.

Established in 1982, the Fajr International Film Festival celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The screening sessions will last for 8 days from January 29 to February 9.
